12 Steps To Finding The Perfect Beauty Routine

is a word that stirs many emotions in most people. It’s a word that brings about thoughts of youth, vanity, and so much more. It makes you think of things that have been glamorized by the media for years – from being tall to having clear skin to being thin.

This article will give you 12 actionable steps on how to find your own personal and learn how to love yourself inside and out.

  1. Be comfortable in your own skin: I’m assuming we all want some form of this one… but it doesn’t come without some effort, especially if you’ve lost some sort of confidence over time or if you used to be far more confident than you are now (or vice versa). In order to truly be comfortable in your own skin, you have to know yourself inside and out. This includes knowing what makes you tick, what your deepest desires are, etc… Take a moment every day to find the good in yourself and look in the mirror at it. You don’t need a magic 8 ball or a crystal ball … just spend some time each day reminding yourself of who you are and why you’re awesome.

2. Find your best features: Once you’ve found what makes you tick (step 1), it’s important to take note of the best parts of your body – whether they be physical or mental attributes! Everyone has something beautiful about them… but not everyone sees it when looking in the mirror. Using descriptors such as “perfect” or “amazing” when thinking about a certain attribute may help you in the beginning.

3.) Dress to impress: You’ve heard this one before, but it’s for a good reason! One of the quickest ways to boost your confidence is through fashion. Not only will looking your best make you feel better about yourself, but it will also help others see the within you – which brings us to our next point…

4.) Flaunt what you got: I don’t mean walking around with your boobs hanging out and no bra. Instead, try wearing clothes that accentuate certain areas of your body so that they pop out against all other areas. For example, if you have a nice butt… try wearing a pair of dark-wash jeans (not too tight) with a pair of heels. The contrast in styles will make your butt look amazing!

5.) Find flattering angles: This is one every woman knows, but sadly some only know it when looking at photographs of themselves… Instead of taking photos from straight on, try capturing certain parts in profile or from the side. Most people have at least one great feature hidden somewhere – you just have to find it before someone else does! 😉

6.) Stop doing things you hate: I get it… we all have things about ourselves that we don’t like and would love to change if given the chance. Unfortunately, this isn’t a thing that’s going to happen unless you decide to let go of the things you hate. This means dropping those bad habits… those activities that make you feel insecure… those people who don’t make you happy… etc.

7.) Stop doing things you love: In a similar vein as point #6, stop doing the things that make you comfortable and complacent! It sounds counter-intuitive, but there’s a time and place for everything – including being comfortable in your own skin. If it isn’t going to grow your personal brand or help build your confidence, then it shouldn’t be done at all! 🙂

8.) Find healthier ways to take care of yourself: You already know this one if you’ve been through 12 step programs before… Drinking too much alcohol is fun every now and again, but you’ve probably noticed that it has a terrible effect on your skin. Even if this isn’t the case, drinking can make you feel less confident about yourself… which brings us to our next point!

9.) Be open with your feelings: The more positive things you tell yourself, the better you will begin to look. You may even notice that you don’t have to say anything at all – being kinder to yourself becomes a habit over time and it’s an upward spiral in terms of personal confidence. Those who are open with their feelings also have higher self-esteem , so they tend to be much more successful in life. We all want success after all, right? 🙂

10.) Exercise daily: It doesn’t matter if this is a super-intense workout… as long as you’re working up a sweat and getting your blood pumping, that’s all that matters. You don’t have to spend hours at the gym doing squats either – it could be as simple as going for a jog every day or taking a dance class once per week.

11.) Eat healthy: Again, not everyone has access to organic produce year-round… but make the choice to eat better in general. Aim for foods that provide you with lots of energy, while also being low in fat and high in fiber… Keep an eye out for nutrients you might be missing by aiming for variety instead of sticking to one thing (pizza) every night!

12.) Don’t forget about your mind: The mind is a powerful thing, and it’s important to keep yours in the best shape possible. Spend time reading books that make you think… listen to podcasts (TED Talks are amazing for this!)… I know one lady who reads self-help books during her daily commute to work! There’s no reason why your mind should be neglected just because you have other things going on in your life.

Understanding these 12 steps will give you a good starting point when working with personal beauty. There are limitless options when it comes to growing and changing your life for the better… so get out there and start making your mark on this world!
